For those of you needing your pets fixed like yesterday, here's the scoop!
MBM has reopened their appointment scheduling by phone! So if you can't wait for us, please keep calling the clinic to take your pets to directly (276) 591-5790.
ETSN Spay Neuter Assistance will reopen Saturday, August 7th at the bus 10-12 noon. We've Fixed A THOUSAND to Save A MILLION in Carter County with FAT SAM! It's taken us 4 years, but we've done it! Only 8 FAT SAM spots left. We will be limiting our signups to 15 for transport going out Sept. 8th.
ETSN provides financial assistance for spay-neuter surgeries at Margaret B. Mitchell Spay-Neuter Clinic (MBM) in Bristol, VA. approximately a 45 minute drive from E-town.
We also offer transports to the clinic for an additional $5, if your pet needs a ride.
The transport shuttle typically goes out the 2nd Wed. of every month.
Registration and CASH payment are due before surgery for either option.
Registrations are held at the ETSN Bus at Tractor Supply in Elizabethton on
Saturdays from 10am to 12pm.

After you register with ETSN and receive your certificate, you must then call or go online to the MBM clinic to make an appointment. We cannot do this for you.
We DO NOT do surgery or shots on the ETSN Purrple Bus, so there's no need to bring your pet to sign up! Payment in CASH required at registration.

If your pet has a current rabies vaccination (with certificate from a vet or clinic), you can deduct $5 from the cost shown above. It does NOT apply to Fat Sam Program. No other discounts will apply. Pets stay overnight at MBM.
When transports are running; transport to the clinic from Tractor Supply in Elizabethton is 6:15 am typically on the second Wednesday of the month, and pets return to the same location at noon the following day. There is an additional $5 transport processing fee for using this service. Please check your sheet for the transport date you have been booked for if applicable.

If Margaret B. Mitchell Clinic has determined they cannot surgically sterilize your pet for any reason; please call the Carter County Humane Society
for a voucher to other participating veterinary offices.

We are no longer loaning pet carriers, you must provide your own.
ALL PETS MUST TRAVEL IN APPROPRIATELY SIZED, HARD-SIDED PLASTIC TRAVEL CARRIERS WITH WORKING LATCHES!!
NO wire crates, soft-sided carriers, or cardboard carriers permitted.
ONE PET PER CARRIER.
Large dogs over 30 pounds travel in MBM's carriers;
cost is included in the price shown above.
Please Read the Following!
The following is important information about MBM's surgery requirements and other services. When you come to sign up, you can select the additional services you want for your pet from MBM if you choose to use our transport.
Please bring payment IN CASH for the total to sign-up.
Transport reservations will not be taken without payment.
Healthy pets from 12 weeks old up to 6 years, 11 months old can be spayed or neutered at MBM.
Pets must weigh at least 4 lbs.
Pregnant females can be spayed at an additional cost of $10. Nursing females cannot be spayed.
MBM does not spay dogs in heat, but will spay cats in heat.
Surgery prices include: pre-op exam by licensed veterinarian; specialized monitoring before, during, and after surgery;
pre- & post-operative pain management; overnight hospitalization and incision site exam prior to morning release.
All pets stay at the clinic overnight and receive a small tattoo to indicate that they have been fixed.
Please note that the veterinarians at the clinic do a health check before surgery and may determine that your pet is not suitable for surgery at that time. Reasons may include: obesity, allergies, heart murmur, or other health reason.
All pets receive an injectable pain medication at time of surgery.
Vaccinations: $10 each (for pets having surgery only)
Cats: Rabies (free), Feline Distemper $10, Feline Leukemia $10
Dogs: Rabies (free), Distemper/Parvo $10, Kennel Cough $10
(By state law, every animal must have a current rabies vaccination; if you do not have a certificate of proof of vaccination, a vaccination will be given at time of surgery. A rabies tag is NOT sufficient proof.)
